Rexall Dental Floss (Dollar General)
Dental hygiene is an underrated part of personal health. Or, at least, it’s underrated until a person experiences tooth or gum pain, at which time it becomes something so important it overshadows the rest of life. Toothpaste, of course, is a must, as it is the starting point for preventing many kinds of tooth and gum issues. Mouthwash can be important, too, especially when it comes to preventing gum disease.
Another part of dental hygiene is floss. The stuff comes in various shapes, sizes, and configurations, and while some research suggests it may not be as important as other things, most dentists still recommend using it, both for tooth and gum health.
Dollar stores sell all manner of dental care products, including floss.
Rexall Dental Floss is sold by Dollar General. It’s a DG private label product, distributed by Dolgencorp, the Dollar General generic distributor. The most common version we see is 140 yards and costs $1. The kind we see is typically mint-flavored and waxed.
You would think there isn’t much to say about floss, and for the most part I would agree … as long as it does what it’s supposed to. See, I’ve purchased lots of floss over the years, and I’ve experienced floss that doesn’t tear properly or a floss container that comes apart. The best kind of floss is, in my view, the floss I don’t think about because it’s doing what it’s supposed to.
In that way, I’m happy to report that Dollar General floss is the kind of floss I don’t think about. It snaps off the line like it’s supposed to, goes between my teeth like it’s supposed to, and the packaging stays together like it’s supposed to. It’s better than some of the grocery store floss I’ve tried, and generally cheaper, too.
The Verdict:
Dental floss might not be the most exciting thing to go shopping for, but if it’s important to you, Rexall Dental Floss is a cheap, effective option.
