Coastal Bay Confections Peach Rings (Dollar Tree)

Gummy candy is my favorite. I love getting gummy bears in my Christmas stocking or treating myself to gummy worms on my birthday. Sometimes I’ll pick up a bag of gummy candy just because. It can be enjoyable to snack on while working at the computer, reading, or even driving around town running errands. I also like fruit snacks, which are practically gummy candy as well.

While browsing in one of the larger local Dollar Tree stores in my area, I spotted some gummy peach rings sold under the store’s private label, Coastal Bay Confections. Peach gummy rings take me back to my high school days when my school cafeteria often sold them packaged in small clear plastic cups with lids. There are other gummies I tend to reach for first, but peach rings can be a nice treat. I picked up a bag of the Dollar Tree peach rings to try.

Coastal Bay Confections Peach Rings cost $1.25 for an 8-ounce package. That’s not a bad price. At the time of writing, Walmart sold Great Value Peach Rings for $1.48 for a 6-ounce package, and Target Favorite Day Peach Rings were $1.19 for 7 ounces. You’ll pay even more for premium name brand peach rings like Albanese.

The Dollar Tree peach rings are a product of Türkiye. They are distributed by Greenbrier International, Inc., which is the company behind the Dollar Tree stores. Coastal Bay Confections is the Dollar Tree private label for various candy products. I also found some Coastal Bay Confections branded candy on Walmart’s website, but it’s not clear if it’s made by the same manufacturer.

These Dollar Tree peach rings contain sugar, corn syrup, water, modified starch, beef gelatin, citric acid, sorbitol (a sugar alcohol), artificial flavor, and colors (FD&C: yellow 5, red 40). Needless to say, these aren’t healthy, but they’re candy, so that’s no surprise.

The package states that this candy was packed in a facility where other products containing milk, wheat, and soy are also packed.

One bag contains eight 3-piece servings, which seems a little on the small side. Most people are going to want to eat more than just three pieces. One serving has 100 calories and no fat, cholesterol, or sodium. A serving has 25 grams of total carbohydrates (9% DV) and 14 grams of added sugar (29% DV).

As for how these taste, they taste like what I remember peach rings tasting like. They’re chewy and sweet, with plenty of peach flavor. They do taste a little artificial, but I recall that being the case even with other brands I’ve eaten in the past. My family certainly enjoyed these and the bag didn’t last long in our house.

The Verdict:

Coastal Bay Confections Peach Rings have a pleasant peach flavor and a nice chewy gummy texture. They’re a pretty good deal, too, and you won’t find many other cheaper brands of peach rings. If you’re a fan of gummy candy, these are worth trying at Dollar Tree.
