A Note From the Editor
We first launched Dollar Store Reviewer in 2019 as a companion site to our flagship site, Aldi Reviewer. Our stated goal was to see if there was a market for dollar store product reviews. Over a five year period, between 2019 and 2024, we published just over 170 posts dealing with Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and a dash of Five Below.
It’s been a fun ride. Not only have we learned a lot about the dollar store industry, but we’ve had the chance to try out some products we’d never really paid attention to before. We’ve also gotten our share of entertainment from people who mistake our site for the official site of a dollar store, something that happened way too often and for reasons we never did figure out.
After much consideration, we’ve decided to divert our writing energies way from Dollar Store Reviewer, at least for now. A large part of the reason lies in how search changed in 2024, with smaller sites like ours ranking lower than in the past. Dollar Store Reviewer faced far more serious headwinds in 2024 than it did in 2019, a fact we could no longer ignore.
We remain proud of our work, and we do intend to keep the lights on at this point. That means you can still access our body of work here. We won’t be adding new content at this point, though, and we have ceased sending out our email newsletters.
